Smart Start Savers

Savings program designed to help your kids get a great financial start! Smart Start Savers is divided between Kids Club and Teens Club. These accounts allow your kids to start saving money and learn about basic financial transactions. The program also allows for opportunities for your kid to get a small loan to help build their credit score or purchase their first car! Scholarship opportunities are also available. Visit our office to learn more!

Kids Club

For those younger than 12 years old, Kids Club allows kids to get a head start on their savings. An initial $5 deposit in a Kids Club Savings account is required to establish the child’s membership to Chadron FCU. After that initial deposit, the kid is allowed to deposit and withdrawal money as a regular savings account would allow. The first $500 deposited will yield 5.25% interest. Benefits of starting a Kids Club account:

  • Only $5 deposit to start the account
  • Free piggy bank at account opening
  • High interest-bearing account
  • Birthday cards
  • A’s Pay
  • Online access/Mobile app
  • Your kid will learn basic financial skills

Teens Club

Young adults between the ages of 13 and 17, Teens Club give your kid a bit more freedom. After the initial $5 deposit in the Teens Club Savings account, your teen will be able to manage their savings and open a checking account with your help. Both the Teens Club Savings and Checking will earn 3.00% on the first $1,000 deposited. Your teen will learn the difference between a checking and savings, how to track their spending, use a debit card or checks, and hopefully have their first paycheck deposit! Benefits of starting a Teens Club account:

  • High interest-bearing account
  • Only $5 deposit to start the account
  • Free debit card
  • No monthly fees
  • Online access/Mobile app
  • Smart phone notifications for debit card use
  • Scholarship opportunities
  • Birthday cards
  • A’s Pay
